Varietal and moisture effect on physical properties of various pearl millet (Pennisetum glaucum) cultivars

Engineering properties of pearl millet varieties (Pusa composite 443, Pusa 701, Pusa1201 and Pusa1801) were evaluated at varying moisture content (10-25% wb). A significant varietal difference was found on studied properties. GMD, Surface area, thousand grain mass, the angle repose, porosity, internal coefficient friction, static friction (Poly, GI, MS Al) increased linearly with increase in within range 10 to 25% (w.b.) while bulk density, true density hardness decreased same range. But value sphericity showed that direct indirect relation depending variety. The mean different cultivars observed extreme high low porosity for PC701 Pusa1201, geometric diameter surface area pusa1801 PC443, mass Pusa1801 PC repose PC701, PC443 respectively ranges from (wb).
